Boone Memorial Health employs over 450 people and receives support from 50 plus volunteers in the BMH Auxiliary, as well as numerous student volunteers in the BMH VolunTeen Program. BMH provides opportunities for both high school and college students as well as volunteer opportunities for community members.

The new Boone Memorial Hospital completed in 2016 replaced the existing hospital facility and nearly doubled in size. The $37 million hospital has 25 private patient rooms, IV therapy, Black Lung Center, the latest in radiology and laboratory equipment, expanded endoscopy and procedure rooms, physical therapy, two new surgery suites, plus six additional emergency treatment rooms and three new triage rooms.
