Boone Memorial Hospital continues to respond to and monitor the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Hospital staff and administration have taken proactive and preventive measures to protect its patients and employees.

With guidance from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Boone Memorial developed a COVID-19 task force, which continues to ensure all staff members are trained, equipped and ready to implement best practices needed to detect the disease, prevent the spread of the disease, compassionately care for confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients and prepare for a larger number of patients in the context of an escalating outbreak.

People are encouraged to take common sense precautions to prevent the spread of all infectious diseases, including COVID-19.

  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are ill.

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.

  • Do not reuse tissue after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose.
