Radiology/Imaging Services
Boone Memorial Hospital’s Imaging Department offers technology that rivals some larger hospitals. With excellent staff, scheduling and technology close to home, why go anywhere else? A mammo boutique offers walk-ins and self-referrals for mammograms. (No doctor order? No problem!). Enjoy a NEW MRI EXPERIENCE at BMH (AMBIENT VIDEO) - An innovative and immersive video experience. (Weekend MRI appointments available)
When you or a loved one is in need of an imaging procedure, rely on BMH. We offer the latest technology and an experienced radiology team to bring you high quality imaging services. Whether you need an X-ray, CT scan (NEW! Aquilion ONE GENESIS 320 Slice CT Scanner), Mammogram (in our new Mammo Boutique) or an MRI (NEW! Ambient Video), our doctors and technologists can accurately diagnose the problem while giving you the personalized care and attention you deserve and expect.

The mammo boutique features pink robes, pink coffee maker, pink decor...pink everything! The hospital offers 1/2 price mammograms every October and now allows self-referrals. No order? No problem. Patients can now walk-in to receive a mammogram without an order from their doctor.
Goody bags are given to all mammo patients throughout the year (while supplies last) and a special prize drawing is held annually at the end of the month each October.
All images acquired are fully digital. All exams are acquired, viewed, interpreted, and stored digitally. Patients are given a copy of their digital images on CD to take to follow up appointments. We also have “image sharing” capabilities with CAMC and St. Mary’s Hospital. This capability allows us to instantaneously send and receive radiologic images with these facilities.
All of our technologists are registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the State of West Virginia.
The Digital Mammography Department is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and our radiology unit is inspected annually by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This certification shows our overall commitment to quality. Operating under Federal MQSA standards of compliance assures safe and reliable digital mammography procedures. All state registrations and licenses are maintained
by the department further representing a safe approach to radiation exposure.
Whatever the test, our staff is available to explain the procedure as well as any preparation you may need to complete beforehand.
Boone Memorial Hospital has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in ultrasound as the result of an extensive review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Ultrasound imaging, also known as sonography, uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of internal body parts to help providers diagnose illness, injury or other medical problems.
"We are up for re-accreditation every three years," said Jeff Mosteller, CNMT (Executive Director of Ancillary Services). It is a very tedious and detailed process."
