Winner of the Second Annual Rehab One, Ltd. Scholarship

Rehab One Ltd., a rehabilitation company, that provides professional therapy and management services at Boone Memorial Hospital since 1998, awarded a $1000.00 scholarship to an employee at Boone Memorial Hospital for the 2019 Academic Year.

"We had several worthy applicants and the Rehab One Board selected Ms. Lindsay Brown," said Owner of Rehab One, Ltd, Shannon Snodgrass.

Lindsay is enrolled in the nursing program at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College and is entering her final year. She is a Therapy Tech in the PT Department at BMH. In addition, she worked as a nurse extern. Over the past year, Lindsay has attained the following achievements; Deans List, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Historian of the Class, Clinical of Excellence Award and GPA of 3.34. All while working 24 plus hours a week at Boone Memorial Hospital.

"Her community activities have always been a priority for Lindsay," said Shannon. She was a Blood Donor via the American Red Cross six times last year, participated in the Dignity Hospice Walk, managed a nursing Shirt Fundraiser, assisted with the Nursing c/o 2019 Awards Night Ceremony and the Inaction Project Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

The Rehab One Scholarship must be utilized at one of the state vocational/technical schools or universities in West Virginia.

Criteria:

  • Literary and scholastic attainment, aptitude, and intellectual promise;

  • Moral qualifications of honesty, truthfulness, temperance, fortitude, and prudence and justice;

  • Qualities of leadership, unselfishness, and social fellowship;

  • Physical vigor as evidenced by an interest in community events and or sporting activities.

“Lindsay is an exceptional employee, role model in the community and has excelled in her journey of becoming a nurse. We are proud of her and all that she juggles all with a smile on her face," said Snodgrass.

Applications will be available in the Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center Office on or before June 15, 2020. Applicants must be Boone Memorial Hospital employees or immediate family of hospital employees. The winner must show an acceptance letter to the university in West Virginia or Vocational/Technical school of their choice. The money will be paid on or before the first day of attendance to the school.
