Boone Memorial Hospital held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on August 13th to celebrate the opening of its Medical Clinic expansion site located in Comfort, West Virginia.

The clinic officially opened on August 2nd.

"The community has been very welcoming," said David Gresham, Chief Development Officer and project lead. "We are excited for our team, led by local provider Marylea Toney Seacrist, FNP, to provide primary care services to the residents of Comfort and the surrounding areas."

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony included remarks by Gresham, along with Virgil Underwood, BMH Chief Executive Officer; Stephanie Massey, Owner, Family Life Pharmacy (Comfort); Alex Vaughn, Field Representative, US Senator Shelly Moore Capito; and Michael Browning, Outreach Manager, US Senator Joe Manchin.

Following remarks was the cutting of the ribbon, lunch and clinic tours.

"It's an exciting time for Boone Memorial Hospital, as we expand services throughout Boone County," said Virgil Underwood, Chief Executive Officer. "We feel the convenience of traveling closer to home for primary care will alleviate stress among patients. In addition, patients can walk-in."

The clinic offers women’s health, pediatrics, diabetic education, general family health, illness and minor injuries, COVID-19 testing & vaccines, flu & allergy shots and physicals.

Prior to opening, Boone Memorial held a Meet & Greet on July 13. The hospital provided lunch and clinic information to community members.

"Approximately 150 people attended," said Gresham. "We were very pleased with the turn-out. It was a great opportunity for our staff to meet the community, and vice versa," he said.

The clinic is now accepting new patients. Appointments and walk-ins are welcome. Call 304-307-3416 for more information.
