Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in the United States annually in May since 1949. Founded by the Mental Health America Organization, the goal is to raise awareness about the importance of mental health in the lives of all Americans.

The Boone Memorial Hospital Brighter Futures Program is a Substance and Mental Health Treatment Program located in Madison, WV.
Brighter Futures cares for patients suffering from substance use disorders.
